Universal Music and Wragge & Co are both to run health and wellbeing weeks in April to raise awareness of such issues.
Universal Music will offer its staff heart and cholesterol checks, hearing tests, dietary advice and stop smoking tips during its third annual health and safety week.
Michael Pye, director of HR operations, said employers should offer staff the option of staying healthy. "It's no good forcing it down their throats, but health advice should be there if it is wanted," he explained.
This month, the company will also relaunch its cycle-to-work scheme and Fit-Bug scheme, whereby employees carry a pedometer and use an online system to calculate how far they are walking each day.
Law firm Wragge & Co, meanwhile, will hold hour-long sessions offering specialist advice on issues such as back pain, heart problems, sports injuries, relaxation and healthy eating for its 1,200 UK staff during its fourth annual health week. The sessions will take place three times a day at its London office and once a day for it's Birmingham-based staff.
Free fruit smoothies will also be offered each morning during the week and tips on staying healthy at work will be left on desks. Amanda Pridmore-Wood, benefits and travel manager, said; "I think it is a good thing to invest in the health of your employees. It has to be [a top] priority."
