EXCLUSIVE: UKTV will be running a two-day benefits and wellbeing event to raise awareness among staff of the benefits available to them.

It will also include information on health and wellbeing issues and financial advice.

The multi-channel provider is hosting the event at its London office on 17 and 18 October for its 200 employees. The event will allow employees to ask nine providers about the benefits available, such as pensions, dental, childcare and health insurance.

The organisation has also invited speakers, including a representative from mental health charity Mind, to provide information to staff on dealing with stress, healthy eating and one-to-one advice on personal finance.

Kate Whateley, interim HR director at UKTV, said: “The core thing for this event is to make sure people understand what benefits are available to them.

“We realised after our annual staff survey that there may be some misunderstanding of what benefits are available and how many good benefits are available.”

She added that the organisation also hopes to create a feel-good factor in the office during the event with mini-massages available and celebrity chef Valentine Warner coming in to judge an employee healthy eating dish competition.

The event is likely to become either an annual event or there could be a focus on a different benefit at different times during the year.
