UKRD Group, Luminus and Kenneth Green Associates are among The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work for in the UK 2011.
The list compiles the best organisations based on a number of factors including: leadership, my manager, my company, my team, giving something back, wellbeing, fair deal, and personal growth.
Ranked first, commercial radio broadcaster UKRD Group has introduced a share scheme for staff and increased its training and development budget during the recession. Last year the organisation spent £64,000 on events for staff such as days out sailing, theatre trips, parties and clay pigeon shooting.
The community housing firm Luminus, which took second place on this year’s list, got its highest scores on giving something back and wellbeing. It also won The Sunday Times’ special award for wellbeing.
Charity work includes community clean-up projects, a grant scheme for local groups, and a junior warden project to teach children about the impact of the environment. Other perks include a subsidised gym membership, a contributory pension scheme, a healthcare package which covers children, childcare vouchers, free financial advice, car parking subsidies, and annual performance bonuses.
Third place organisation Kenneth Green Associates is also committed to charity work, including fundraising for the Protection Against Stalking organisation, which gave the perfume distributor a special award for giving something back. KGA staff have access to a company doctor, and programmes for stress management and stopping smoking.
Other organisations to top the list are: Bravissimo, Sewell Group, Denplan, Adecco and Ingeus.
