Tunbridge Wells Borough Council has launched online voluntary benefits for its 500 staff.
The council now provides staff with tax-efficient benefits, such as a cycle-to-work scheme, childcare vouchers and mobile phones.
Employees also have access to more than 2,000 discounts on purchases at high-street stores, supermarkets, holiday companies and entertainment firms. They will either get a discount or receive cash back, which they can transfer into a personal bank account.
Staff previously received childcare vouchers and local retail discounts, plus discounts at council swimming pools and on bus fares.
The new scheme is managed on an online platform, where staff shop for their discounts. The council does not have an HR or employee benefits team, so Kent County Council is administering it. The benefits were communicated via a road show, brochures, themed posters and emails.
