Toshiba Information Systems is upgrading its flexible benefits scheme and introducing voluntary benefits and online total rewards statements (TRS) for its 700 UK-based staff.

The online TRS and voluntary benefits scheme will go live from November.

The firm will also relaunch its flexible benefits scheme in April 2008 and is considering additional options such as retail vouchers and on-site catering.

It is also offering the flex scheme to staff in the firm's manufacturing division, based in Plymouth, for the first time.

Its 316 head office staff have had a flex package since 2001, which includes dental and travel insurance, laser eye surgery and childcare vouchers.

There is currently 100% participation in the existing scheme and the organisation has no plans to remove any of the existing benefits.

Susan Stevens, head of HR at Toshiba, said: "It is time to refresh and review the scheme."

Serenity Flex and Reward will provide administration services for the initiatives, while Staffcare will supply the benefits technology.
