Tindle Newspapers is to pay a total of £200,000 in bonuses to its 700 employees.

The amount each employee will receive will be based on the success of the regional newspaper group’s individual companies. Full-time employees will receive a minimum of £125 up to a maximum of £400 and the amount will be pro rated for part-time staff.

The organisation broke the news to its staff in a letter sent to managers from its chairman Sir Ray Tindle. It is aiming to pay the bonuses in time for Tindle’s 87th birthday in early October.

In the letter, Tindle wrote: “We are glad to be able to pay this [because] everyone has worked hard to try to pull our newspapers through this dreadful recession.”
