The Pensions Regulator has appointed Mark Boyle as its new chair.
He will take up the post from 1 April and serve a four-year term.
Boyle is currently non-executive chairman of HM Land Registry, and was previously director and chief operating officer of the Shareholder Executive. He has also held banking roles at Lloyds Bank and Kleinwort Benson.
He said: “I am delighted to be appointed chair of The Pensions Regulator.
“I look forward to leading the board and ensuring that the regulator continues to deliver its objectives, while at the same time playing an active part in dealing with the challenges faced by the broader pensions industry.”
Steve Webb, minister for pensions, added: “[Boyle] is a proven leader who brings a wealth of private and public sector experience to the role and I look forward to working with him.”
Boyle will succeed Michael O’Higgins who has been in the post since 2011.
