The Legitas Group is piloting the national employment savings trust (Nest) with a group of temporary staff in response to the incoming pension reforms.

The professional services provider to temporary employees began piloting the scheme in February, a full year ahead of its staging date in February 2013.

The group has also lifted its self-imposed ceiling on employees’ national insurance (NI) payments.

David Allen, chief executive officer at Legitas, said: “As an employer of temporary workers, we take the responsibility of protecting our employees’ benefits seriously.

“Our trial with Nest, for example, is to test, batten down and ensure that the scheme will work perfectly well before rolling it out across our whole workforce of 20,000 temporary workers.”
