This month, Employee Benefits magazine celebrates the 15th anniversary of our launch. Back in February 1997, our first issue hit the desks of UK benefits and human resources managers, as well as the in-trays of advisers and consultants.
As with all notable dates, this presented us with an opportunity to take stock of the past decade and a half. Topping the list of Employee Benefits’ achievements is how we have aided the growth of a true community of benefits professionals and practitioners who have got to know each other through our pages and events.
But most importantly, without the active contribution so many of you make to Employee Benefits, be it the magazine, our website or our ever-expanding range of events, we would not be able to deliver the top-quality information that this community values.
So we have decided to honour those employers who made a contribution during 2011, be it through a news story, a case study, or a people move in the magazine or as a judge or winner at our awards, or speakers at our many events. You are the movers and shakers of the benefits industry and are therefore our Hot 100. Over the next 10 pages, you can see who made this exclusive list, in strict alphabetical order.
Building this list has also given us the opportunity to launch a 100 Club, an exclusive club for those who made our Hot 100 list. Should all go to plan, each year people who make our Hot 100 will become part of the 100 Club, growing it as time goes by. There will be an associated LinkedIn group as well as an invitation-only exclusive party.
I would also like to take this opportunity to extend a special thank-you to Employee Benefits’ deputy editor, Debbie Lovewell, who put a lot of work into pulling this list together. Ably assisted by our events co-ordinator Elena Harris, the two of them have got both the Hot 100 list and the 100 Club off to a cracking start.
A final, but very important, thank-you to our sponsor (and long-term supporter) Bluefin for backing this exciting new endeavour.
Debi O’Donovan, editor
