The Capita Group is to introduce a voluntary dental scheme in May.

It decided to introduce the perk following its acquisition of National Dental Plan (NDP) in August 2010, when it spotted an opportunity to align its new acquisition with its own benefits package.

The scheme will be available to the majority of Capita Group’s 37,000 employees, most of whom based in the UK, Ireland and Jersey.

Employees can opt to take out a range of cover levels from NHS to private cover. They can also take out plans for their partners and children.

The Capita Group previously offered a dental scheme but it was not widely promoted and had a very low take up.

Andrew Bower, managing director of NDP, said: “Employers within the group have been telling us their employees are asking for this. Dental hygiene reduces absences so we thought it was a great opportunity to roll this out across our employee base.”
