Something for the weekend…
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No…it’s a nanny.
Etihad Airways has launched an in-flight flying nanny childcare assistance programme for families.
The airline has partnered with Norland College, a training centre for nannies worldwide, to deliver a specialist childcare training programme for 500 cabin crew.
The flying nanny course at Etihad Airways’ training academy in Abu Dhabi teaches trainees about their role and responsibilities, such as introducing themselves to families at the aircraft gate and providing assistance with boarding.
The scheme certainly brings a Mary Poppins-esque commitment to childcare, but will the initiative be the spoon of sugar the employer needs to make its childcare efforts take off?
