New research from Canada Life Group Insurance has revealed that more than two-thirds (69%) of employees did not receive any form of employee benefit from their employer in 2008, up 3% on the previous year. However, more than half (53%) of the 1,058 UK residents surveyed said they consider benefits to be important when choosing a job. When asked to list benefits in order of importance, employer contributions to a company pension scheme came out top, with over 20 days' holiday per year second, followed by income protection, critical illness and life assurance.
