Southern Cross Healthcare has launched a voluntary benefits scheme to harmonise its reward package following its merger with Highfield Care earlier this year.
Both organisations had previously offered voluntary benefits to staff, but the care home operator wanted to create one post-merger benefits package.
Sue Moncur, group HR manager, said: "We're in the business of hoping to bring together the two organisations. The integration is working extremely well and I think this is aiding that."
The scheme, which is provided by Personal Group, rolled out to staff during September. The firm had supplied Highfield Care's previous package, while Southern Cross Healthcare's was provided by CBS.
Moncur said that communication methods, in particular, the ability to supply a benefits booklet for employees, played a key role in the company's choice of provider.
The merger also enabled Southern Cross Healthcare to add new perks, such as discounts on: foreign travel, insurance products and RAC membership.
