Health screening provider, Screenetics has launched a service called Wellness Days to promote health and wellbeing in the workplace.

Wellness Days are designed to connect employees with their health through a series of events and activities including: the Juice Bike, an exercise bike that creates fresh juice as the user cycles; cholesterol and fitness tests; the Metabolic Age Game, a competition for employees to guess their metabolic age; and postural assessments to gauge the ergonomics of an employee’s workstation.

The Wellness Days can be tailored to an organisation’s requirements and can be delivered alongside health screening. Screenetics trialled the Wellness Days with a few employers in 2010 and has decided to roll them out as a standalone service.

Kevin Hollick, director of Screenetics, said: “More organisations are seeing the benefits of investing in staff wellbeing, and onsite wellness days are a highly visible way to do that.

“The days that were run last year created a real buzz among the staff who participated and really encouraged employees to ownership of their health. The sessions make keeping fit and healthy in the workplace fun, interactive and informative. It is great for team building and motivating the workforce into becoming more health aware.”
