Something for the weekend…
Saudi Arabian employers might want to reconsider which employee benefits they offer to staff.
Commuters crossing the 16-mile (26km) King Fahd causeway, which links Saudi Arabia to Bahrain, have been stuck in an eight-hour traffic jam. And it seems there is no end in sight.
It has been reported that no solution has been arranged to end the queues, but Employee Benefits suggests that commuters switch their company cars for a bikes-for-work scheme.
Authorities investigating also found there were not enough customs officials on the border to cope with the thousands of people crossing every day.
Perhaps the Saudi customs’ HR managers might also consider investing in a staff motivation programme.
