Royal London has launched online total reward statements and switched voluntary benefits providers in a bid to consolidate its benefits information online for its 2,600 staff. The insurance group will follow this with a bikes for work scheme and a relaunch of its childcare voucher scheme in November. Employees will be able to view information about their benefits, including pension details and access total reward statements. Peter Riley, reward manager, said this would help to boost employee understanding of perks. Royal London is also working to ensure staff understand the rules around salary sacrifice and are aware of the implications of being involved in such a scheme. "If employees understand salary sacrifice they are much more likely to take advantage of it, and will not be so suspicious," Riley said. You at Work previously provided its voluntary plan before its move to P&MM.
