The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) has outsourced its pensions administration.
The Borough, which has over 8,000 members in its scheme, will outsource its pensions administration to Capita Hartshead's Banstead office from September, initially on a four-year contract.
Paul Kidd, head of financial services at RBKC, said that although the Royal Borough had an excellent in-house team it was becoming increasingly difficult to recruit and retain experienced staff.
"We decided to market test the service as we wanted to achieve service improvements and ensure business continuity by working with an organisation that had greater resources at its disposal. Outsourcing the administration to Capita Hartshead will enable this to be achieved at a lower overall cost to the Royal Borough," he explained.
