The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has achieved a take-up rate of more than 10%, for its part-funded private healthcare benefit, which was offered to all non-senior executive staff in June.

Out of a possible 350 non-senior employees, 40 took up the Pru Health plan, which is 50% financed by the RFU.
Senior executives already receive the health plan, fully funded by the company.

The health plan was put in place after staff expressed interest in a healthcare scheme in a benefits survey.
Jenny Lane, pay and benefits manager for the RFU, said: "We try to offer our staff as many benefits as we can, within our financial restraint, and private healthcare has come to the fore in recent years. Healthcare is something that the staff wanted, so its no surprise that so many of them have taken it up."
