wellbeing benefits

Employee Benefits poll: More than three-quarters (76%) of respondents believe there has been an increase in employee demand for wellbeing benefits at their organisation.

A straw poll of www.employeebenefits.co.uk readers, which received 49 responses, also found that 12% of respondents do not think employee appetites for wellbeing benefits have increased, while a further 12% are unsure.

A survey of 2,000 UK employees, published by Gympass in July 2018, suggests that wellbeing benefits are more in demand.

For example, 57% of employees surveyed want to receive free fruit as an employee benefit, 54% want access to health checks and 42% want to be able to take up a gym membership within their benefits package. This compares to 37% who would like a company car and 40% who value a good pension plan.

Around half (52%) of Gympass’ respondents are not satisfied with their current benefits package, and 89% feel that good workplace perks would make them more likely to accept an organisation’s job offer. Also, approximately two-thirds (64%) of respondents think they would be more effective at work if they had better access to fitness schemes or physical activities.
