Oscar Mayer UK has rolled out a new mobile optical service through Eyecare International, which will allow the 470 employees at its Ferndale Foods location to access free eye tests and a pair of free frames.
The launch complements the existing weekly mobile services for chiropody treatments currently on offer at all three locations.
Ken Martin, group benefits manager at Oscar Mayer, said: “Our employees’ health is paramount and the mobile healthcare saves them time and money. The [mobile healthcare] surgeries are also seen as preventative medicine in that some conditions can be diagnosed earlier by the healthcare professional and referred for treatment.”
Oscar Mayer UK’s benefits programme, known as the Oscar Mayer Millie Club, is also celebrating ten years of providing employees of Oscar Mayer, Ferndale Foods and Rowan Foods with voluntary benefits.
The anniversary will be celebrated with a series of roadshows held between 30 March and 15 April. These roadshows will include presentations by providers such as Eyecare International, Bupa, Private Legal Care and Thomas Cook.
Thomas Cook’s Holiday Club division will also be providing employees at the Ferndale Foods and Rowan Foods locations with special discounts on its products and services via a dedicated link on the Millie Club website or by telephone. The service will be rolled out to employees at all three locations over the next three months.
