OpenBet is to launch a flexible benefits scheme to enhance its employee benefits package for its 450 UK employees.

The software provider to the sports betting industry will launch the scheme, which is provided by Portus Consulting, in March. The plan will include critical illness cover, travel insurance, dental insurance and deals on mobile phones and IT equipment.

OpenBet will launch the scheme after research among its employees, carried out via staff surveys and focus groups, helped to establish which benefits would be most attractive and valued by its workforce.

Staff already have access to an online voluntary benefits scheme, which was launched in December and provides a number of retail discounts for employees.

Employees will be able to access the new flex scheme through the same benefits portal.

OpenBet also offers staff a pension, private medical insurance and life assurance as part of its core package, as well as a range of other benefits including a bikes-for-work scheme, subsidised gym membership and season ticket loans.

Tim Cleaver, director of reward at OpenBet, said: “Employee benefits are a critical part of our recruitment, retention and engagement strategy and we are focused on ensuring they are relevant and valuable for our UK staff.”
