NXP has revamped its voluntary benefits programme to add perks that cater for grass roots employees working in its manufacturing sites.

All 950 staff at the firm, which was part of Philips until 2006, will have access to a range of voluntary benefits including retail vouchers and discounts on days out and meals in restaurants.

Morag Paterson, compensation and benefits manager at NXP, said: “The idea behind introducing affinity benefits is to hopefully offer a package that’s more appropriate for employees in manufacturing, who may not want to commit to existing salary sacrifice on an annual basis.”

It will be made available from April 2009 and the firm will continue to offer all of its current salary sacrifice benefits, including private medical insurance, dental cover, critical illness insurance, retail vouchers, cash plan, travel insurance and a stakeholder pension.

The new scheme, provided by Motivano will replace the existing benefits package from Accelerate.
