North Tyneside Council is looking for one provider to supply its physiotherapy, counselling service and GP service as part of its effort to increase the efficiency of its occupational health provision.
The council is putting a contract out to tender this month. It also plans to outsource the scheme's administration. Currently, its GP service is provided by Well Work, its counselling service by Paradigm and its physiotherapy service by the National Health Service.
Steve Quinlan, occupational health and safety manager at the council, said: "This will help with better absence management and looking after our employees' health proactively."
