York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has hosted a series of benefits and wellbeing fairs for employees at two of its hospitals.
More than 1,000 employees attended the first fair at York Hospital in June and 400 employees attended the second fair at Scarborough Hospital in July.
Benefits featured at the fairs included discounted gym membership, health cash plans, a new computer and phone scheme, a bikes-for-work scheme, monthly fruit and vegetable delivery service, company cars, podiatry and health-related products.
Employees could receive mini health screenings, which were undertaken by the trust’s occupational health team.
There was also a staff lottery draw, in which one employee (pictured) in York won a car, and cash prizes for up to £1,000 in Scarborough.
Teena Wiseman, staff benefits manager at York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Improving staff benefits is a key part of the trust’s reward and recognition strategy.
“At the events, we asked staff for their views of the fair, what they found useful and what they would like to see at future events.
“We had great feedback from staff that will give us ideas for next year’s fairs.”
