KPMG has revamped its corporate benefits package, organised a benefits survey and is improving the way it promotes benefits to employees.

Bikes for work and mobile phones have been added to the company's existing flexible benefits package, which already includes health insurance, childcare vouchers, a home computing scheme (HCI) and lifestyle vouchers. Additional benefits offered by the company include a stakeholder pension scheme. Only 80 of KPMG's 9,500 employees have taken up bikes for work, while 120 have taken up mobile phones.

However, Cheryl Curtis, benefits manager at KPMG, expects the rates to improve for the new benefits. "The take-up rate for benefits is traditionally low in the first couple of months at KPMG. I am sure it will increase," she said. This month KPMG will undertake a total review of its benefits system, giving employees the opportunity to vote for their most and least favourite benefits by responding to an online questionnaire.

The accountancy firm is also launching a 'virtual roadshow' - an email presentation explaining the benefits on offer, how they operate and how they can be utilised by staff.
