Law firm Eversheds has boosted the health benefits available to staff by introducing an employee assistance programme (EAP), health screening and dental insurance. The law firm already offers staff private medical insurance as a voluntary benefit.

The health screening and dental insurance will now also be offered as voluntary benefits, while the EAP will be offered as a core benefit to all staff. The move is in response to feedback from employee focus groups that discuss benefits and other employee issues. Bupa will provide all the health benefits.

Anna Patra, compensations and benefits manager at Eversheds, said: "We wanted to create a one-stop health shop for our employees to visit and trust, and Bupa's strong label helped us do this." Now Eversheds is looking to bring all of its benefits together in one package, rather than offering them to its 3,500 employees as individual perks. It is planning to launch a flexible benefits package by the end of the year.

"We are definitely gearing up towards flexible benefits. We want to move away from having isolated benefits, such as childcare vouchers and home computing, and towards running a wrapped-up scheme," said Evershed's Patra.
