The majority of large organisations are taking corporate social responsibility (CSR) extremely seriously by having the chief executive in charge of CSR programmes. A study, produced by communications consultancy Hill & Knowlton, found that CSR policies were the responsibility of the chief executive in just under half of European firms. Some 26% entrust the board with such policies and 16% said it was the job of corporate communications. Only 12% of organisations said that they have not undertaken new CSR policies in the past two years.
