Construction supplier A & E Russell has introduced healthcare cash plans for 130 staff to help it meet duty of care obligations. Gill Black, human resources and finance director, said that providing a counselling service helped it to deal with stress and protected the company from legal action. "We elected to take face-to-face counselling sessions which is a bit more expensive but it means that if somebody is suffering [they can go to] a counsellor." The company funds a basic level of coverage for staff and they can upgrade coverage at their own expense.
