Something for the weekend: Ensuring that employees are well rested is an important way to boost productivity levels at work; with some employers even opting to install sleep pods or sleeping rooms into the office environment to help staff catch up on some shut-eye. However, the newest recruits at the New Taipei City Police Department are having trouble keeping their eyes open, with six one-month old labrador retriever puppies nodding off mid-shift.

The six sleepy new hires, who recently celebrated their one-month birthday, have joined the police department’s puppy academy. As the offspring of current police dog Yellow, it is evident that law enforcement runs in the family for this litter.

Photos of the puppies were posted on Taiwan National Police Agency’s Facebook page after the recruits had their first team photoshoot with their human colleagues.

Here at Employee Benefits, we think the puppy academy has its work cut out for it with these adorable puppies. Let’s hope that nap breaks are permitted until the recruits have adjusted to their new working routine…
