Mitchells and Butlers is offering its employees free energy-saving products for their homes.

The benefit, rolled out to 1,000 corporate staff at the pub and restaurant chain in September, is provided by Grass Roots Group.

It is aligned with the employer’s corporate social responsibility strategy, which includes integrating energy-awareness messages into its retail training packages, and electing staff as energy champions to offer advice to colleagues.

Grass Roots introduced the product for employers in response to the government’s 10:10 campaign to cut carbon emissions by 10% in 2010.

The offering can also be included in a voluntary or flexible benefits scheme.
