Microsoft, Google and Fedex Express are among the Top 25 World’s best multinational workplaces list, compiled by the Great Place to Work Institute.
Microsoft topped the list at number one, followed by SAS, Net App, Google and Fedex Express. Cisco, Marriott, McDonald’s, Kimberly-Clark and SC Johnson rounded off the top 10.
Seven of the 25 top multinational organisations have operations in the UK, including Diageo, Telefonica 02, National Instruments and Quintiles.
Some of the reasons that these organisations are ranked at the top of the list include:
- Diageo – A focus on corporate responsibility, and employee access to learning and development resources.
- Microsoft – 90% of staff work flexibly with access to free home broadband, laptops and Windows mobile devices.
- National Instruments – Offers employees a healthy work-life balance, and opportunities to get involved in their communities.
- Quintiles – Offers staff a competitive total rewards package that includes salary, benefits, and bonus and career development opportunities.
Since launching the first Best companies to work for lists in partnership with Fortune magazine in the United States in 1997, the Great Place to Work Institute now recognises leading workplaces in some 45 countries.
Tom O’Byrne, chief executive at the Great Place to Work Institute, said: “I am particularly delighted that seven of UK’s best workplaces have achieved a place on the best multinational workplaces list.
“With only 25 organisations in the world awarded this prestigious accolade, their achievement is a testament to their world-beating leadership and commitment to creating a great workplace for their employees.
“Indeed, it is the support of everyone who works at these organisations which has lead to their recognition as among the world’s best.”
