Something for the weekend: Not all childhood career ambitions become a reality. However, spending days on end designing elaborate Lego constructions need not be just a remembrance of after-school playdates because Merlin Entertainments Group is looking to recruit a Lego model designer to join its workforce.

The full-time, permanent position will see the chosen candidate work from a specified design brief to design and build world-class Lego models for use at Lego attractions and parks across the world. The successful applicant will be based in Legoland's Windsor Studios, situated at the popular Legoland Windsor theme park, and will work alongside project designers, technical teams, and brick stock associates.

The new model designer will need to consider production timings, budgets, and deadlines to flourish in this creative role. An interest in Lego and the creation of Lego models is required, as well as experience of IT and design software packages.

The lucky candidate will have access to a suite of employee benefits once they join, including a Merlin Magic pass, a 25% discount in Merlin Entertainments’ retail shops and restaurants, and a 40% online discount to buy even more Lego. The new model designer will also enjoy 20 days' holiday, a group personal pension plan, and access to an employee assistance programme (EAP), childcare vouchers, and life assurance.

Here at Employee Benefits, we think it would be great fun to relive your childhood games in your day job, especially if it involves plenty of Lego model building...
