Mercer has appointed Gail Philippart as a principal in its retirement business, specialising in defined contribution (DC) pension advice.
She will be responsible for managing Mercer’s DC consulting business in the southwest and Midlands.
Philippart has over 20 years’ experience in the retirement industry. She joins Mercer from Aon Hewitt where she worked as a principal consultant in the DC team, providing advice to a range of trustees and organisations across occupational, contract-based and additional voluntary contribution pension schemes.
She also advised on projects such as scheme closures and salary sacrifice across both defined benefit (DB) and DC schemes.
Tony Pugh, head of Mercer’s DC business in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), said: “She has a wealth of experience in formulating and implementing DC and benefit solutions, and brings a range of skills to the team.”
Philippart added: “I am delighted to be joining Mercer at this exciting time. The development of the workplace savings proposition and the work being undertaken on auto-enrolment means I am joining a team full of new ideas and enthusiasm.”
