Mercer has appointed Daniel Hibbert to develop the company’s pay and reward consulting services in the UK’s public sector.
Hibbert has more than 15 years of experience in advising organisations on aspects of reward management, including employee relations, performance-related pay, incentive scheme design, job evaluation, equal pay reviews and pay-cost modelling.
Prior to joining Mercer, he was a director at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC).
Chris Johnson, head of UK human capital business at Mercer, said: “The public sector is facing significant new challenges after years of pay restraint, pension reform and now the prospect of regional pay reform.
“Workforce performance and effective reward will be priorities across the sector and we look forward to bringing our expertise to bear. We are pleased to have Hibbert on board.”
Hibbert added: “Public sector pay needs to be more closely linked to performance, to talent management and to other HR processes.
“This requires a more dynamic approach to reward management, in which flexibility is underpinned with strong processes and governance.”
