PruHealth, in partnership with consultancy Mercer, has launched an initiative called Britain’s Healthiest Company, to find organisations in the UK with the best practices in maintaining a healthy workforce.
The initiative was launched on 26 August. The closing date for entries is 7 November, with the results to be announced in early 2013.
Employers and employees in organisations with more than 100 staff will be surveyed on health risks and health trends. The results will be used to produce an index that provides insight into the health of the UK workforce.
Winning employers will receive a trophy. Each participating organisation will be given a corporate health report that details the main health risks facing its employees and ways to improve health in the workplace. Employees will receive a personal health report.
Neville Koopowitz, chief executive at PruHealth, said: “The Britain’s Healthiest Company index will give insight and understanding into how healthy today’s workforce is and which organisations are holding the gold medals when it comes to safeguarding their employees’ health and motivating them to lead a healthier way of life.”
