Landlord and development organisation MEPC is holding a wellbeing month for 4,000 employees based at its Wellington Place business community.
Organisations based at Wellington Place, including include Allianz, Equifax, Irwin Mitchell, Shulmans, Sky Betting and Gaming, Squire Patton Boggs, and Willis Towers Watson, will take part in the wellbeing month, which launches today (1 November 2017) and will run until the end of November.
The wellbeing month will feature a range of free events that are available for all staff across the site to take part in. This will include seminars for finding happiness in the workplace, workshops on how to improve sleep patterns, and mental health first aid classes.
The wellbeing month will run alongside the development’s ongoing employee wellbeing initiatives, which include knitting classes, fitness classes and a workplace choir. These aim to reduce stress and boost employee wellness.
Dominique Simcox, spokesperson at MEPC, said: “It’s essential that we do everything we can to improve wellbeing and combat the taboo around mental health issues. Mental health is such an important subject that is rarely discussed openly, and we want to help change that by creating an opportunity for people to learn more and challenge the stigma.
“Our first mental health first aid class filled up within just a few minutes, demonstrating the clear demand for people to learn more about it. Wellbeing as a whole is something we’re incredibly passionate about here at Wellington Place and we want to do everything we can to play our part in helping to create a happy and healthy working environment for people to enjoy.”
