Scottish salmon producer Marine Harvest (Scotland) has switched providers for its pensions administration, actuarial and consultancy services of the Marine Harvest Pension Scheme.

From this month, Xafinity will take over the contract from Towers Watson.

The open-ended contract will be serviced by Xafinity from its Stirling office in Scotland.

Jonathan Seed, director for Xafinity Consulting in Scotland, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by Marine Harvest (Scotland) and the trustees of the Marine Harvest Pension Scheme. There was an immediate synergy with the organisation and trustees as well as with Ernst and Young, its management consultants.

"We are also able to provide all of the services under a fixed fee which really helps clients in the current economic environment. We look forward to working with the team at Marine Harvest.”

Kenneth McIntosh, finance director of Marine Harvest (Scotland) and the chair of the trustees, added: “The trustees of the Marine Harvest Pension Scheme undertook a thorough tendering exercise and were impressed by the high standard displayed by all of those invited to present. We were nevertheless unanimous in the decision to appoint Xafinity and we are now very much looking forward to working with their team.”
