Shop staff at skincare and fragrance firm L'Occitane en Provence will be able to claim cash back for chiropody treatments.

The international chain, which operates 20 stores in the UK, employs 170 staff who are often on their feet for long periods of time.

The chiropody treatments come as part of a new healthcare cash plan that was introduced alongside revised leave provisions.

The firm also introduced paid wedding leave of two days and offers time off to care for dependants.

Julie Abernethy, L'Occitane's UK human resources manager, said: "When looking at the benefits package here, I wanted to do something that would make us a bit different from our competitors. You can always pay an extra 50p an hour but Molton Brown will top that by 10p so it's not right for the mix of people we want. We want to reward them in a way that's quite unique."
