Law firm Linklaters has won the award for 'Most effective employee benefits scheme' at this year’s Lawyer HR awards, which took place last night.
The law firm, which employs a 2,500-strong workforce, has made a number of changes to its benefits package in the past year. These include the introduction of new terms group personal pension (GPP) plan, comprising auto-enrolment, a new contribution structure and a salary sacrifice arrangement around pension contributions.
New staff will be automatically enrolled into the pension scheme under the revised contribution structure, with an opt-out period of 30 days from the date they join the firm. This move came well ahead of government reforms, which will require all organisations to auto-enrol staff into a qualifying pension scheme from October 2012.
