Legal and General has appointed an independent chair to its WorkSave mastertrust.

Paul Trickett (pictured), who joins from investment bank Goldman Sachs, said: “I am very pleased to be appointed as the chair of the board of trustees.

“This structure reinforces benefits of independent trustee governance and I firmly believe this is good news for mastertrust members.”

Tony Filbin, director of Legal and General Trustees, added: “We are delighted to have the benefit of [Trickett’s] knowledge and experience and are confidant that this initiative, which is designed to strengthen the independence of the trustees, will further enhance our proposition.”

The WorkSave mastertrust trustees retain two corporate trustees: Pitmans Trustees, and Legal and General Trustees.
