KPMG has introduced an online cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) programme to help employees identify and cope with mental health issues such as stress and depression.

The online programme can help employees to determine whether they are suffering from any mental heath illnesses through a series of questions, and offer tips about how they can deal with these.

If the problem is serious, employees will be referred to the occupational health department where a qualified adviser can help them.

Julie Bennett, KPMG's UK health and wellbeing manager, said: "The programme will teach the employee various techniques of the CBT programme and guide staff through dealing with problems."

Although employees that use the programme will remain anonymous, and the finer details will be confidential, the firm will be able to access general data to find out which issues are affecting its workforce.
