Kent Police is teaming up with Kent County Council to relaunch the police force’s cycle-to-work scheme.
The police is to re-open the ordering period for its cycle-to-work scheme this month, following a high level of staff interest in the benefit.
Kent County Council, will provide full marketing and administration support, road shows and payroll support to Kent Police.
Jane Vivier, reward adviser at the council, said: “We have enjoyed a very successful bike-to-work scheme with our own employees and following consultation on the scheme with Kent Police they asked us to manage the scheme for them. Kent County Council has a strong emphasis on working in a partnership arrangement and having already managed a number of successful salary sacrifice schemes internally it seemed like a logical step to take.”
The council is keen to work with other employers in Kent and help them manage their benefits.
Around 50 employees at Kent Police, out of a possible 5,000, signed up to the salary sacrifice bike-to-work scheme when it originally launched last year.
