Kent County Council hopes to introduce interactive total reward statements to improve employee engagement.
The statements, a first for the local authority, will be made available to staff online and will enable them to see the total value of their salary and benefits package, including pension and the amount they save through discounts offered through the council's voluntary benefits scheme.
The local authority, which employs 46,000 people, will first offer the statements to a select group as a pilot, with the aim of rolling them out to more employees at a later stage.
Colin Miller, reward manager, said he hoped to make the statements interactive so staff could see the impact of the various benefits available to them, such as salary sacrifice childcare vouchers and a cycle-to-work scheme.
"It is an interactive package that allows employees to sit down, type in what they earn, what their pension contributions are, and use it as a modelling tool," said Miller. "We want this to maximise employee engagement."
The web-based statements are in development with the authority's existing provider, Asperity.
