Keep Wales Tidy, the body which works to protect and enhance the country’s environment, has agreed a deal Screenetics to provide healthcare screening.
The organisation is implementing the scheme via a cash plan with Simplyhealth to give employees access to a comprehensive set of tests designed to help optimise health and reduce the risk of developing health problems now and in the future.
Employees may contribute from £1 per week into their cash plans, which they can use to claim back money spent on healthcare, such as dentists, opticians, physiotherapy and the health screening provided by Screenetics.
The screenings take the form of one-hour checks which involve non-invasive tests on issues such as cholesterol, diabetes, iron levels, cardiac risk assessment and a bone density scan.
Lynne Evans, HR officer for Keep Wales Tidy, said: “The screenings have offered a totally different and positive experience for staff, in that they have been very personalised and a lot more friendly and customer-focused than a visit to your GP might be.
“So far, there has been a positive uptake by staff and those who have claimed their screenings on their Simplyhealth cash plan have received payment immediately.”
