The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Reward (CIPD) has appointed Katharine Turner, practice leader of Towers Watson’s executive compensation team in the UK, as vice president of performance and reward.

The elected appointment, which will last for two years, was made at the CIPD’s annual general meeting on 7 December.

Turner said: “I am delighted to be taking up this important role. Effective reward and performance are crucial aspects of people management and vital contributors to engagement and hence organisational effectiveness, particularly in times of austerity.

“I look forward to working with the CIPD over the next two years, and supporting the work of HR and reward professionals with the challenges ahead.”
