The John Lewis Partnership has added environmentally-friendly perks to its voluntary benefits scheme for its 70,000 employees.
Staff can now obtain discounts on power generated from renewable sources provided by Green Energy UK. They can also make savings on goods purchased from www.evengreener.com, which sells gardening products, such as composting equipment and water storage tanks.
These new additions were communicated to staff using booklets and information posted on the organisation's intranet site.
Andrew Clark, head of reward at the John Lewis Partnership, said: "What we are hoping to do is to get staff to think about the environment and show them they can do their bit without it being too onerous."
