A new business in Japan is offering employers the chance to arrange ‘weeping boys’ for their employees to encourage them to cry.
The organisation, Ikemeso Danshi, which roughly translates to ‘Handsome Weeping Boys’, provides assistance crying for employees as the ‘weeping boy’ hired will sit next to them and watch tear-jerking videos until the worker’s tear ducts open.
The practise is known as rui-katsu, or ‘tear-seeking,’ with its overarching ambition being to encourage crying with the intention on improving an individual’s predominant emotional state.
This makes the Employee Benefits team wonder what other unusual benefits might be available to improve workplace wellbeing, but cultivate a happier workforce…
