ITN will offer flexible benefits to its 700 employees for the first time in April 2011.

The news organisation is adopting an online system for staff to choose their own benefits, said Sue Utting, compensations and benefits manager at ITN.

The company introduced a group personal pension plan on 1 April 2010 after its defined benefit (DB) scheme was closed. It then amended the pensions portal to include self-service, including benefits information and payslips, in September.

ITN’s new GPP is provided by Standard Life, so it chose sister company Vebnet for its flex plan. Utting said: “The whole piece is about individuals being responsible for their benefits.”
