Aecom builds unified perks

Engineering and design company Aecom has outsourced the management of its benefits programme in a bid to achieve greater efficiency and cater better for a growing workforce.

The firm will gain 2,000 more employees when it acquires construction consultancy Davis Langdon this month. Aecom will consolidate the consultancy’s benefits with the package of its own 3,000-strong workforce in the UK, so all staff will have access to the same perks by the beginning of January.

Also, a retail discount scheme will be added to Aecom’s benefits package, offering a mixture of voluntary and core benefits. Travel insurance, additional life assurance, health scans and dental insurance will also be included.

The organisation’s existing benefits include bikes for work, childcare vouchers, pension and private medical insurance. Life assurance and income protection are offered as core benefits.

The new platform, provided by Mercer, will see all benefits offered online. Kathleen Wilkinson, director of benefits at Aecom, said: “Our in-house programme was mostly online, but some benefits were not offered online. The new system has allowed us to consolidate online tracking and [maintenance] of information, including pensions and beneficiary information.”
