Irish Life has launched a voluntary benefits plan following a pilot scheme last year.

The plan, called Irish Life Flex, is offered to 340 staff in the financial services firm's corporate business division. Employees can opt to buy a range of benefits, including dental, travel and private medical insurances, and retail vouchers.

Bernie O'Brien, manager, Irish Life corporate business HR, said: "We ran a survey last year and found out what people felt about which benefits they wanted."

Core benefits offered by the company include a pension and life assurance. So far, 45% of staff have taken up at least one benefit through the plan, which is provided by Benefex.
